One Tip to Help You Lose Weight
It’s the new year and shedding those holiday pounds is front and center on many minds. Need to lose a few unwanted pounds? Want to do it without gimmicks, pills or potions? Then follow this one simple tip to fire up your metabolic furnace and burn more calories all day long, no matter what you do.
Weight Loss Tip: Eat Something Within 30 mins of Waking
That’s it. Simple right? Anyone can do this. And I’m not saying have a full cooked meal ready in 30 mins. What I am saying is, put something in your stomach within the first half hour of your day, ie a banana, a protein bar, a slice of whole wheat toast with almond butter. Whatever you like. Just put something in there and this will start your metabolism off to a great start. Studies have shown that when you eat something within 30 mins of waking you will burn anywhere from 50-80% more calories–ALL DAY!
Now as a subpoint to this one tip, you might be surprised to learn that experts have found that when you eat around 50% of your total daily calories all at breakfast, you will burn more calories and lose weight more easily.
So here’s a practical morning weight loss strategy:
Keep a healthy snack near your bedroom. Before you hop in the shower, eat your snack. Afterward go make yourself a good breakfast. What to snack on? A good energy bar that has high fiber, high protein and low sugars would be good. I prefer Quest bars available at GNC. A banana or apple is good. Sorry, Pop Tarts are probably not your best choice.
No time for a good breakfast? Try this:
- Protein shake
- Apple with almond or peanut butter
- Slice of Ezekial bread
Another tip is to eat healthy snacks between meals so that you are eating every 3 hours or so, but that would be more than 1 tip so I’ll stop here.
